ABOUT US

Kimchi Day (November 22) was established in Korea in 2020 as a legal anniversary to promote the value and excellence of kimchi. Kimchi is a traditional Korean dish made primarily from fermented vegetables like cabbage and radishes, along with various seasonings. It holds a significant place in Korean cuisine and culture, known for its unique flavors and the health benefits derived from the fermentation process.

Mission Statement

The K-Kimchi World Solidarity Washington DC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the value, cultural significance, and health benefits of kimchi and Korean culinary traditions. Our mission is to create an inclusive platform where diverse communities can explore and appreciate the richness of Korean culture, strengthening cross-cultural understanding through education, collaboration, and engagement.

While our annual Kimchi Festival is a cornerstone of our work, our efforts extend year-round through educational programs, culinary workshops, and community outreach initiatives. We aim to foster lasting connections between Korean heritage and the broader American society, as well as with other ethnic communities. By highlighting kimchi as a symbol of Korean identity and a vehicle for cultural diplomacy, we strive to bridge cultures and build shared experiences for present and future generations.
